JOB TITLE:            GLASS CULLET PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR

LOCATION:           NAIROBI & MOMBASA

TERMS:                 FULL TIME

REPORTING TO:   OPERATIONS MANAGER

ABOUT US.

Bottle Logistics EA. Ltd. specializes in efficiently recovering industrial and post-consumer glass waste and processes it into highly refined glass cullet, glass aggregate and clean reusable bottles for respective brand owners. We build strong collaborations across the value chain ensuring high recovery rates of the glass waste in its best form. We recover and recycle all hollow glass bottles and glass jars. These include wine and spirit glass bottles, water glass bottles, cosmetic glass bottles and glass jars.

ABOUT THE ROLE:  

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cullet Production Supervisor to oversee glass cullet production operations. The Production Supervisor is responsible for managing the production of glass cullet in a safe, efficient, and environmentally responsible manner. This role oversees daily plant operations, ensuring that cullet production targets, quality standards, and safety requirements are consistently met. The Production Supervisor leads a team of cullet production staff, coordinates maintenance activities, and drives continuous improvement initiatives within the facility.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

PRODUCTION SUPERVISION.

·       Oversee the day-to-day operations of glass cullet production, ensuring maximum efficiency and minimal downtime.

·       Manage inventory of raw materials and finished cullet to ensure uninterrupted production.

·       Ensure glass cullet meets required specifications and quality standards. Implement inspection and testing procedures to identify defects or issues.

·       Manage, train, and motivate cullet production staff to achieve performance goals and maintain a safe, productive working environment.

·       Handle employee relations, including attendance management and disciplinary actions.

·       Monitor and coordinate maintenance and repairs for production equipment to minimize breakdowns and optimize performance.

SAFETY AND COMPLIANCE

·       Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations according to company policies and regulatory standards.

·       Conduct regular safety training, inspections, and audits to mitigate risks.

·       Ensure team adherence to PPE usage and safe operation of equipment.

CONTINOUS IMPROVEMENTS.

·       Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, efficiency, and cost control.

·       Analyze cullet production data and develop strategies for continuous improvement in operations.

QUALIFICATIONS:

·       Must have a Degree or Diploma in a related field.

·       Must have a minimum of B- in KCSE and a B plain in Mathematics.

·       Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role preferably having worked in a pack house or in the manufacturing industry.

·       Ability to develop production SOPs in line with company standards.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Ms Powerpoint.

·       Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

·       Excellent communication skills and organization skills.

·       Ready to learn on the job.

GROSS SALARY- 40,000 per month.

ABOUT THE ROLE:         

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Production Supervisor to join our team at Bottle Logistics East Africa Limited. The Production Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the washing, quality control, packaging, and distribution of reusable glass bottles. The role focuses on developing and implementing standard operating procedures (SOPs), optimizing production output, and ensuring that high quality, safety, and environmental standards are consistently maintained throughout the production process.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Production Planning & Operations.

·       Develop, implement, and monitor daily, weekly, monthly production schedules to meet production targets.

·       Monitor the efficiency of the production process, optimizing for throughput, quality and waste reduction. 

·       Co-ordinate and supervise daily production operations across washing, quality control, packaging and distribution functions to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery.

·       Develop, implement, review and update production SOPs to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with operational requirements.

·       Monitor production performance and output and identify gaps in the production process to increase efficiencies.

·       Optimize production processes by effectively managing resources, minimizing waste and improving productivity.

·       Ensure all production machinery and equipment are properly operated and well-maintained.

Quality Management.

·       Develop, implement, review and update quality SOPs for the washing process, quality control, packaging and delivery of reusable glass bottles.

·       Ensure all finished products and packaging consistently meets customer’s specifications and internal quality standards.

·       Identify quality issues, conduct root cause analysis, and implement corrective and preventive actions.

Health, Safety & Environment (HSE).

·       Establish, implement and enforce health, safety and environmental protocols to ensure a safe working environment.

·       Ensure compliance with occupational health and safety regulations, environmental laws and internal HSE policies.

·       Conduct risk assessments and regulatory safety audits to maintain a safe workplace.

·       Lead incident investigations, implementing corrective actions as necessary to prevent future incidents.

Continuous Improvements.

·       Analyze production output and operational data to identify opportunities for continuous improvement and innovations.

Qualifications:

·       Minimum of a Diploma in Production Management, Manufacturing, Industrial Technology or a related field.

·       Minimum of a B- in K.C.S.E and a B plain in Mathematics.

·       Minimum of 2-3 years of relevant work experience in a similar role preferably having worked in a pack house, FMCG or in the manufacturing industry.

·       Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Ms Word, Ms PowerPoint.
